Bay Ridge Marketing Along 3rd, 5th and 86th

Bay Ridge runs from the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge up to around 65th Street, and its business life sits on three strips: 3rd Avenue for restaurants and bars, 5th Avenue for everyday shopping and a long run of Arab American businesses, and 86th Street for chain retail near the R train. Medical and dental offices are spread along all three, often in the ground floors of apartment buildings, and so are law offices handling closings, estates and injury cases.

The population is varied. Irish, Italian, Greek and Norwegian roots run deep on some blocks, a large Arab and Muslim community is centered around 5th Avenue, and Chinese and Latino households keep growing. The R ends at 95th Street, so many residents drive, ride an express bus or catch the NYC Ferry at the 69th Street pier, which stretches the area people are willing to search across.
